Olympic weightlifting course: intermediate (in English)

Olympic weightlifting is a sport that combines technique, explosiveness, strength and mental focus. Getting a barbell up from the floor and up above your head may seem like an easy task. But when the barbell is loaded to a near maximum weight it might be one of the most challenging physical tasks you have done. For everything needs to be perfect during the lift.

To help you strive for perfection we will start a 6 week olympic weightlifting course. olympic weightlifting
The course will be taught in English and it will be a practice only course in order for you to work on the lifts as much as you can. The snatch and clean & jerk will be taught but also supplemental or partial lifts such as high pulls, push presses, back squats and overhead squats will be covered. Olympic weightlifting shoes are strongly recommended or other shoes with an elevated heel like mountain climbing shoes. Some experience with olympic lifting is necessary.

The sessions will be on Saturdays from 11 o'clock to 1 o'clock. We start on January 14th and the last session will therefor be on the 18th of February. The cost for members is 145 euros and for non-members the cost is 195 euros.

Overview

  • Practice only course
  • Including supplemental exercises such as high pulls, push presses and overhead squats
  • Maximal lifting in the last week as a final assessment
  • Minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 8 participants
  • The costs for members is 145 euros and for non-members is 195 euros
  • During the course non-members can train at SPORTJA to work on their technique and lifts
  • Weightlifting shoes recommended, olympic weightlifting experience necessary (not a beginner course)
